Aims and Scope

REVUELTAS. Chilean Journal of Social History is an open-access academic journal published by the Núcleo de Historia Social Popular, dedicated to the publication of original research in the field of social history, with a focus on subaltern groups, labor, social movements, and forms of collective organization in Chile and Latin America.

The journal promotes empirical and theoretical studies that, from a historical perspective, contribute to the understanding of issues concerning the popular sectors, both in their historical development and contemporary expressions, fostering dialogue with related disciplines in the social sciences.

Its objective is to advance a critical understanding of the dynamics, conflicts, and transformations of popular sectors, articulating historical analysis with present-day questions.

The journal is addressed to researchers, scholars, and graduate students in history and the social sciences, as well as specialists in Latin American social history.

REVUELTAS adheres to principles of academic rigor, peer review, editorial transparency, and open access, promoting the broad and unrestricted dissemination of knowledge.

Publication frequency
REVUELTAS is a biannual journal, publishing two issues per year (January–June and July–December). The journal maintains a regular publication schedule to ensure editorial continuity and timely dissemination of accepted works.
