Publisher policies
  1. Focus and scope
Objective: Revueltas. Revista Chilena de Historia Social Popular aims to promote the discussion and dissemination of works on popular social history and the Chilean and Latin American popular movement, generating a space for the production and socialization of knowledge based on research carried out by both researchers and undergraduate or postgraduate students.
 
Audience: This journal is aimed at the national and international academic community interested in the problems of popular social history. Notwithstanding this, it seeks to satisfy queries and questions from a wide audience from the popular field and the general public.
 
Thematic coverage: Revueltas. Revista Chilena de Historia Social Popular y is a biannual open access scientific publication, whose thematic coverage is popular social history. The magazine publish unpublished works every six months in order to increase communication in the community, as well as promote the production of historiographical knowledge in our country and in the various countries and regions of Our America.
 
Open access policy: Revueltas has access free, immediate, free and unrestricted to all of its content, with which it seeks to encourage a greater exchange of global knowledge.
 
Processing Expenses: The costs of processing contributions are assumed by the journal, so no There are no charges associated with the publication or the authors by concept.
 

     2. Sections Policies

Research Article:  Articles and reports of unpublished research work completed or in progress are published, which have a maximum length of 10,000 words (approximately 30 pages). Its theme is related to the guidelines of the magazine.
 
Reflections: Reflections -supported, analytical and critical- around some of the thematic axes of our magazine. They can be -or not- the result of research projects -finished or in progress-, conferences or master classes, constituting a contribution to the understanding of the Chilean and Latin American popular social reality. Reflection articles are subject to the same formal requirements as Articles, except for their length, which should not exceed 10 pages.
 
Reviews: Reviews of books published in the last three years are published, as well as evaluative comments on theses or dissertations written by undergraduate, master's or doctoral students. Length: maximum of 5 letter-size pages.
 
Academic communications: Papers or conferences made in scientific tournaments of recognized quality and whose completion does not exceed one year will be published. They must correspond to works from research with public, private, or self-financed funding (independent researchers). In case of public or private organizational sponsorship, the name of the project, entity, registration or code, duration period must be indicated. (add extension). Academic Communications are subject to the same formal requirements as Articles, except for their length, which should not exceed 10 pages.
 
Bibliographic inventory: Recovers research carried out in the past. Written in review format, the publications in this section are intended to publicize the historiographical-patrimonial value of these documents and the contribution that they can make by old research to current and future research projects. The bibliographic inventory is subject to the same formal requirements as the Articles, except in its length, which should not exceed 10 pages
 
Sources and documents for Popular Social History: Unpublished or little-known primary sources are published, along with a presentation by a researcher, where the importance and value of the reviewed documents is highlighted. The studies of sources and documents for the Popular Social History are subject to the same formal requirements of the Articles, except in their length, which should not exceed 10 pages.*
 
*Collaborations addressed to the Articles section will follow the process of evaluation indicated in point 3 of this protocol, while the works sent to the Reviews, Bibliographic Inventory and Sources and documents for popular social history sections will be evaluated by the Editorial Team with the support of the National and International Scientific Committees.
 

    3. Arbitration process.

The process of evaluation of works includes two stages:
A) The first consists of receiving collaborations by the Editorial Team. In this stage, it will be evaluated that the work is relevant to the topics addressed by the journal and complies with the formal requirements and editorial standards requested in this protocol. Within a maximum period of thirty business days, the authors will know if the article is accepted or rejected. to be sent to the peer review stage.
B) In the second stage, the content of the work is evaluated through peer review, as double blind (blind peer review):
  • Editorial Team and the Scientific Committee National and International will define two specialists in the area to evaluate the article. The evaluators will be external to the editorial institution and the editorial team.
  • Evaluators will analyze the quality, originality and relevance of the work.
  • Evaluators will issue their opinion, within a maximum period of two months, in the following terms:
  1. Approved without modifications.
  2. Approved with modifications.
  3. Rejected.

In case of discrepancy between an Approved and Rejected opinion by the evaluators, the text will be sent to a third referee, who will determine It will end if the work is approved or rejected. The final opinion of the evaluators is final.

C) After receiving the opinions, the authors have a maximum period of 30 days to make the changes proposed by the evaluators and send their work to the Team again. Editorial. The modifications must be highlighted in the text with yellow color.

    4. License Terms and Copyright Revueltas.

Revueltas. Revista Chilena de Historia Social Popular publishes exclusively under a Creative Commons CC BY NC SA 4.0 license that requires:

  • Acknowledgment: the authorship of each material must be acknowledged, which implies presenting the name of the person who wrote it in a visible place. In the same way, you must give an account of the place where you retrieved it, indicating an electronic address.
  • Non-commercial: all the material published by the journal is distributed free of charge. The magazine does not allow third parties to make commercial use of the material offered here. Many of the publications are products of public resources and have been published by the magazine free of charge to ensure distribution. Any commercial use that may be given to the publications made here is strictly prohibited.
  • Share alike: any person is guaranteed all the actions described in the "Coverage of Open Access" section, but must always respect the license with which we have published. This requires that when using our material it is under this same license.
  • International: our license requires that the material be available without regional restrictions.

Copyright of each article recognizes the authorship of those who have written them and may make use of it under the conditions which sets the license.
