Mi nombre es Mario Garcés. Historiador. Doy clases en la USACH y dirijo ECO, Educación y Comunicación.
¿Qué significa para usted esta conmemoración de los 50 años del golpe de Estado en este contexto actual?
Tiene un significado, subjetivamente, un poco depresivo, diría yo. De incertidumbre, de duda. Después de un tiempo de relativo optimismo, digamos, en más de una entrevista que hicieron sobre el estallido, establecí algunas relaciones entre el estallido y la Unidad Popular, mostrando ciertas analogías de cómo se trataba de coyunturas históricas relevantes en las cuales el pueblo ganaba presencia y de alguna manera influía en el curso de la historia. En cambio, el contexto actual, después del plebiscito del año pasado, se ha vuelto francamente crítico, depresivo, incierto. Se hizo visible un país que no terminamos de imaginar, quizás, o de entender, ¿no? Como esta sensación de que nos cambiaron el país. Entonces, yo venía pensando en la mañana en esto, a propósito de esta entrevista. ¿Cómo explicar esta transformación?
