The so-called "social outbreak" in the Chilean region has shaken the country's social and political life. This article deals with the social revolt started on October 18, 2019, analyzed from the perspective of the “esoteric” Marx and the critical theory of value developed by Robert Kurz, Norbert Trenkle, Anselm Jappe and Moishe Postone. The main objective of this writing is to stimulate a theoretical discussion that allows explaining the deep roots of the revolt, placing it in the historical context of a depletion and crisis of the central categories of capitalist society on a planetary scale.
