The biomedical world and traditional medicine: struggles for life of the Nn'anncue Ñomndaa versus COVID-19

The paper presents the results of a project whose purpose was to explore the possibilities of a dialogue between the knowledge of indigenous population groups and biomedical knowledge. The information was obtained through fieldwork in Amuzgos communities (Nn'anncue Ñomndaa) in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. We show that, in the face of COVID-19, specific articulations of healing practices from diverse knowledge were observed in indigenous communities, along with rejections, more than biomedical knowledge, of degrading, excluding and discriminatory treatment of people of indigenous origin by health personnel.
