Mi nombre es María Angélica Illanes. Soy historiadora desde hace muchos años y me he especializado en la historia social. Además, soy madre de dos hijas. Este año, estoy itinerando entre Santiago y Niebla, donde resido, en la costa de Valdivia. Vivir cerca del mar y del cielo ha dejado una profunda marca en mí a lo largo de estas últimas décadas.
¿Qué significan a su juicio esta conmemoración de los 50 años del golpe de estado en este contexto social que estamos viviendo?
Son 50 años, medio siglo, ¿no? En la historiografía medio siglo significa ya un cambio generacional. Entonces, por una parte, estoy de duelo simbólicamente, pero por otra, estoy muy atenta a lo que dicen y hacen la nueva generación, que es la que en el fondo está portando el legado o la memoria de lo que ocurrió. Los que lo vivimos la Unidad Popular y el golpe estamos en la primera línea de la partida ¿no? Entonces, lo que a me preocupa y que más me interesa en este año es escuchar a los jóvenes y sobre todo me preocupa el discurso ambiguo que he escuchado dentro algunos sectores de la izquierda.
