This article examines, through the magazine Orientación, the official journal of the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Toluca, the processes of sentimental education that took place amongst students and workers of this institution. The aim of this exploration is to evaluate what were the main mechanisms that allowed the magazine's promoters to set up their perspective on gender relations in connection with local and national political changes. Ultimately, the objective is to question those views that have sought to provide uniformity to these social dynamics.
