Abstract

This article considers the origins of Alicia Eguren's political commitment to Peronism, dating back to when that word did not yet exist. Based on her own correspondence, the militant literature, and the testimonies of other Peronist women, a pivotal time is reconstructed in the party's insurgent orientation, which the author organized after the civil-military coup of 1955. Specifically, the memoirs recompose her political participation in intellectual circles linked to Peronism in power and, later, her imprisonment accused of "conspiratorial to the rebellion", was a confinement that the militant press interpreted as a silencing of her leadership.
